About Us
Wildhaven Farm products are grown/raised in a regenerative system using permaculture principles. We manage a small market garden to supply our CSA program and a few farmers markets. We raise chickens, sheep, rabbits and maintain a small herd of registered nubian dairy goats.
Annual crop beds are maintained with no dig or minimal tillage to protect the vitally important ecosystems of microorganisms that contribute to the health of the whole farm system. Perennial crops and orchards are planted in diverse polycultures or “food forests” that include many varieties of support species to encourage beneficial insect populations, soil health, and general ecological balance. These diverse insect populations also enhance crop pollination.
Our livestock are moved around unused garden areas, carefully designed silviculture grazing paddocks, and purposely managed “cell grazing” plots in open fields. Pastures are grazed hard but for a very short time-span, allowing the pasture to recover quickly and spend the majority of its time in growth.
